chopper build progress

Well it's been a little while now that I've been working on this thing. I did the normal winter maintenance and had been patiently waiting for a few last pieces before putting it all together. I spent all day saturday re wiring the bike. It took me about 5 hours to cut, crimp, solder and heat shrink everything, but it turned out really nice and is a big relief knowing that I won't have to worry about any wiring issues for a long time. I put the rear wheel on and mocked up the seat, fender and oil tank. I think I have everything figured out as to where I'll mount the tabs and I'll head down to the motortrash garage this weekend to weld up all the tabs. Once that is done, the frame will be sent to a local shop to be sandblasted and powder coated before I do the final engine swap. In the mean time I am going to polish the engine up, run new fuel and oil lines and possibly pull the kick start out to replace the gears. I noticed towards the end of the season it slipped a few times, and I can imagine 32 year old dog teeth are pretty warn down.

All has been quite other than that for the time being. Lots of updates to come in the next few weeks!!

Hardass

Pretty stoked on getting my hardtail section in for the sporty. Ordered fender struts and some solo seat mounting brackets from Lowbrow, and per usual the shit showed up in like 15 minutes. I picked up a spare frame for a 1980 that i'll be cutting and putting the hardtail on. I picked up a cutting wheel for an air compressor too, so I'll be toying around with that and hopefully have this thing rigid in the next week. I can't wait to start tearing up the streets again. Also, the bike has been deemed "frankencycle".

Eye Candy

This time of year I always find myself spending every free second that I have around a computer searching for anything I can find motorcycle related. I love artistic views on anything, so watching well made video's is a good way to waste the day. It's be impossibly warm lately, and I got out yesterday for my first ride of the season with my lady. So while I'm cooped up today, mashing away on the keyboard, I'm keeping myself entertained. here are a few of my favorites

Busy Beaver

Well, the last couple weeks have been super busy, and super productive. Charlie Hustle decided to crash our party, and new Pinned flyer is up. My hardtail frame is done and shipping early this week. I started running the wiring, mocked up a new headlamp, and threw a new air cleaner on it. I also got some ink last week and took a cruise down to Columbus to pick up a friends bike. Shot the shit with the usual suspects and grubbed my face off while I was in the city. It's also going to be flirting with 70 here in Ohio this weekend, can't say I'm upset about that.

CB Beatty

It's always instant boner motivation when you see a chick on a sickle, so when my gal pal asked me to find her a bike, I was more than happy to help. My buddy Ben from the Devil's Mustache crew had this storm trooper looking 71 cb350 he had been working on. Alyssa being a sucker for mate' black, was a good fit for being it's new owner. It's always cool to help mutual friends, espeically when the outcome makes everyone happy. Headed down to Columbus this weekend to pick it up and watch her crash it in the first 3 minutes.

Savages

My buddy Kareem over at Milk Bar Boutique is definitely making a big name for himself in the capital city and beyond. He is not only a style guru, ladies man, and cycle enthusiast, but a good friend too. He is also the man behind Pinned Ohio, which is an annual meeting of like minded cycle guys, bands, babes and good times. Check out this little promo video put together for the shop, and check out his gear over at Milkbarboutique.com
